8-Day Northern Serengeti Safari (Migration Focus)

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by your professional safari guide and transferred to Mateves Boutique Lodge.

The lodge is set in a quiet, green environment outside Arusha city, offering a relaxing atmosphere after your international flight. Depending on arrival time, you may unwind in the gardens or enjoy a short rest before dinner.

After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park. The drive offers a gradual introduction to rural Tanzania, passing local settlements and open landscapes.
Upon arrival, begin a full-day game drive in a park known for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. The Tarangire River acts as a vital water source, attracting wildlife such as zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, giraffes, and predators including lions.
A picnic lunch will be served inside the park, followed by continued afternoon game viewing before exiting the park.
Dinner and overnight at Manyara Secret.

After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area highlands.
The journey is scenic, transitioning from forested highlands to the endless open plains of the Serengeti. Game viewing begins as you enter the park, offering chances to see giraffes, elephants, antelopes, and early predator activity.
Arrive at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge in the afternoon. Time to relax before dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart for the northern Serengeti region, known as Kogatende, an area famous for river crossings and migration activity.
The drive itself functions as a continuous game drive, crossing multiple wildlife zones and increasing sightings along the way. As you move north, the landscape becomes more rugged with river systems and open plains.
Arrive at Mara Tented Camp in the afternoon. This region is one of the most important wildlife corridors in East Africa.
Dinner and overnight at camp.

Spend the entire day exploring the Kogatende area of Serengeti National Park.
This region is best known for the Mara River, where wildebeest crossings may occur during migration season (typically July to October). Even outside migration events, the area supports resident predators including lions, leopards, and hyenas, as well as large herbivore populations.
Your guide will position the vehicle based on wildlife movement patterns to maximize sightings and photography opportunities. A picnic lunch will be taken in the field to allow uninterrupted game viewing.
Return to Mara Tented Camp for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, begin your return journey to Central Serengeti with a full game drive en route.
This transition offers additional wildlife encounters as animals shift between seasonal grazing areas. Expect continued sightings of predators, elephants, and large herbivore herds across changing landscapes.
Arrive at Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive as you exit Serengeti National Park.
Continue toward the Ngorongoro Crater region, passing through highland landscapes and scenic viewpoints along the way.
Arrive in the Manyara area and check in at Manyara Secret.

After breakfast, pass through Mto wa Mbu, a culturally rich farming town known for local markets and diverse communities.
Depending on flight time, continue your journey to Kilimanjaro International Airport for departure.
